Spring is here! Flowers are blooming, birds are chirping, and BeHeardPhilly has new studies to participate in! As you know, BeHeardPhilly was created to allow the community to have a voice in timely and impactful community issues. Well, these new studies will not disappoint.
In recent years, the public eye has been taking a closer look at police departments across the country and the impact of body cameras on their safety and the safety of others. Introducing The Citizen Survey! In partnership with Temple’s Department of Criminal Justice and sponsored by the National Institute of Justice, The Citizen Survey briefly examines the role that body cameras play in police training, behavior, decision making, and overall relationship with the community they protect. This is sure to be an eye opening study!
Many of you may remember being selected to participate in the PHL Resident Survey in 2016 or the PHL Resident Focus Groups in 2017. In those two projects, The City of Philadelphia was interested in how residents felt about City services like parks and recreation, streets and sanitation, and health and human services. The survey also asked about resident experiences with police and contacting the City.
After some visible impact to some of these services, the PHL Resident Survey 2019 will ask questions about city services and resident experiences to see if they have improved. If you are a member of BeHeardPhilly, you may have the opportunity to chime in on things that matter to you and your neighborhood.
Be on the lookout for both of the surveys this spring 2019. If you’re already a member of BeHeardPhilly, then you’ll be notified to participate in these studies, if you’re eligible.
