Wanting to improve the quality of the service they provide, the Philadelphia Water Department developed a survey with BeHeardPhilly℠.  Two surveys were conducted. The first was a Comprehensive Customer Satisfaction Survey of nearly 2,000 customers. The second was a field survey about perceptions of construction project satisfaction administered to 400 people across 10 recently completed construction sites.

The Comprehensive Customer Satiation Survey asked questions related to experiences with: general customer satisfaction, drinking Philadelphia water, bill paying, contacting the Water Revenue Bureau, contacting the Service Department, and overall communication and notifications from Philadelphia Water. Finally, all respondents were asked to provide general feedback to Philadelphia Water. For example, respondents were asked how the pay their bill.

The goal of the Construction Project was to better understand the experiences of residents who had been affected by Philadelphia Water construction projects in the past. Philadelphia Water selected ten past construction sites throughout the city to intercept and interview residents about their experiences. Respondents were asked questions about being inconvenienced from a Water Department related construction project.

Pre DNC Survey- July 2016

A few months before the DNC came to Philly, BeHeardPhilly℠ Researchers were interested in how many BeHeardPhilly℠ members stay up-to-date with politics.

BeHeardPhilly℠ members were asked to share their opinions about the current political issues most important to them. Other questions included, “Have you voted in a local election within the last 2 years?” and “Are you currently registered to vote?”

Post DNC Survey – August 2016

A follow up survey was conducted after the Democratic National Convention (DNC). Similar to the Pre- DNC survey, the Post-DNC survey asked participants a series of questions to determine if their perspectives on local and national government had changed since the convention.

David Thornburgh, CEO, Committee of Seventy says, “This survey gives us some great insights. It suggests the DNC was perceived as a big win for Philadelphia and for Hillary Clinton. Having said that, though, people in Philadelphia do not trust government or our elected officials very often—barely over half the time—and public corruption clearly has a negative effect on trust.”

In collaboration with Professional Masters of Business Administration students, BeHeardPhilly℠ launched a jazz listener survey for the Philadelphia Clef Club.

The mission of the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts is to celebrate and preserve the legacy of Jazz through accessible education for the Greater Philadelphia region and to support the evolving art form through talent development, programming, and public performance. By participating in this survey, respondents will assist Temple University's Fox School of Business as it works to determine how the Clef Club can best connect to and engage Philadelphia's jazz listening audience base.

BeHeardPhilly℠ members were asked questions like, “What genres of music do you listen to?” The top answers were “Pop” (71.7%), “Hip Hop” (56.5 %), and “Jazz” (56.5%).

The Barnes Foundation expressed interest in surveying people in the following zip codes: 19102, 19103, 19104, 19107, 19121, 19130, 19131, 19132, 19143, 19144, 19145, 19146, 19147 and 19148.

BeHeardPhilly members were asked questions like “What are the reasons that you visited the Barnes for the first time” and “What are things you think about when deciding if you want to visit a museum”.
