Pre DNC Survey- July 2016

A few months before the DNC came to Philly, BeHeardPhilly℠ Researchers were interested in how many BeHeardPhilly℠ members stay up-to-date with politics.

BeHeardPhilly℠ members were asked to share their opinions about the current political issues most important to them. Other questions included, “Have you voted in a local election within the last 2 years?” and “Are you currently registered to vote?”

Post DNC Survey – August 2016

A follow up survey was conducted after the Democratic National Convention (DNC). Similar to the Pre- DNC survey, the Post-DNC survey asked participants a series of questions to determine if their perspectives on local and national government had changed since the convention.

David Thornburgh, CEO, Committee of Seventy says, “This survey gives us some great insights. It suggests the DNC was perceived as a big win for Philadelphia and for Hillary Clinton. Having said that, though, people in Philadelphia do not trust government or our elected officials very often—barely over half the time—and public corruption clearly has a negative effect on trust.”
